Plants offer organic active ingredients for our skin and hair care when grown under optimal conditions, including the soil condition, local environment, how the plant is harvested, processed and manufactured. But how do you know if your skin care and hair care ingredients truly offer the actives they claim, or if they are counterfeit?
Organic makeup and mineral makeup in some ways are the same. Both are made from ingredients that are naturally occurring. Organic makeup is made using plants from organic sources. Mineral makeup is made from rocks that are by definition inorganic.
Certified Organic is often confused with chemical free, or plants and food that have been grown without pesticides and herbicides. It is much more than that, and extends beyond how a plant is grown or how food tastes. It is a guarantee that a product meets my personal hopes of ecological sustainability and child labour free.
